Officers from Poznań police have detained five juvenile boys, Ukrainian nationals, suspected of involvement in the arson of vehicles across the city. All those detained are aged between 8 and 12 years old.

The incidents occurred in Poznań. Police conducted operations into the vehicle fires, during which they established the involvement of a group of minors. In the course of further action, officers detained a total of five boys.

Given the very young age of the perpetrators — the youngest is only 8 years old — the case will have a specific legal character. Under the Polish legal system, individuals below the age of 15 are not subject to criminal liability as defined by the Criminal Code. In such cases, a family court may apply educational or correctional measures.

The detailed circumstances of the arson attacks and the children's motivation remain under investigation. Police are not releasing further information at this time due to the protection of minors and the ongoing proceedings.
