Drunk drivers in Mazovia: no licence, court bans and collision in Radom
During the past weekend, police stopped several drunk drivers in Mazovia. Among them was a 37-year-old with 2.5 per mille and two court driving bans.

According to mazowiecka.policja.gov.pl, during the past weekend police officers stopped several drivers who got behind the wheel after consuming alcohol. Criminal proceedings are being conducted against all those detained.
On Warszawska Street, a 33-year-old woman was driving a Toyota with nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in her blood. As established, she does not have a driving licence.
On Komandosów Street, a driver of a Mazda reversing hit five parked cars. Witnesses to the incident, suspecting the man was under the influence of alcohol, took his keys away. The 37-year-old attempted to flee on foot, but police officers intervened. Testing showed approximately 2.5 per mille of alcohol. A check in police databases revealed that the man has two court bans on driving all motor vehicles issued by the District Court in Radom. He was taken into police custody.
On the same Warszawska Street, road police officers stopped a Mercedes for inspection. The 22-year-old driving it exceeded the speed limit by 24 km/h, and a sobriety test showed 1 per mille of alcohol in her system. Police officers confiscated the woman's driving licence.
Driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol carries a penalty of up to 3 years' imprisonment. Failure to comply with court bans on driving vehicles is punishable by up to 5 years' imprisonment. Police remind that alcohol reduces concentration, slows reaction time and impairs the assessment of distance and speed.
