Fatal beating in Nowa Huta – police establishes task force, two arrested
A 36-year-old Hutnik Kraków supporter died following a beating on Willowy estate in Nowa Huta. Police has established a task force and arrested two men connected to the incident.

According to RMF24, Kraków police has established a special investigative task force following the death of a 36-year-old man who was beaten on Willowy estate in Nowa Huta. The task force comprises experienced officers from the provincial and municipal police commands in Kraków, as well as officers from the Central Investigation Bureau of the Police and the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime.
To date, two men have been arrested whose connection to the incident has been established by officers. Earlier, police arrested and questioned nine other individuals from supporter circles, who were subsequently released due to insufficient evidence confirming their involvement in the beating.
On Monday, the case was transferred from the municipal command to the provincial command in Kraków. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
Group attack recorded on CCTV
At a press conference on Sunday, prosecutor Mariusz Boroń from the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Kraków reported that CCTV footage from the scene unambiguously indicates that the man was attacked by a group of several people. The victim was found by a passer-by. The 36-year-old died in an ambulance.
Police has already identified all persons directly involved in the beating. Efforts are underway to establish their whereabouts.
The victim was a Hutnik Kraków supporter and member of the club's boxing section, known by the pseudonym "Yankes".
Wisła Kraków issues statement
In response to comments suggesting involvement of individuals associated with Wisła Kraków in the incident, the football club TS Wisła Kraków S.A. published a statement. "The club firmly condemns all acts of violence and aggression," the club wrote, noting at the same time that it opposes the automatic linking of Wisła and its community with the actions of specific individuals. "Violence has nothing to do with supporting," the statement emphasised.
