Police conduct searches in schools across Poland: 76 arrests and 231 incidents
Polish police are conducting operations in educational facilities throughout the country. By Saturday morning, 76 people had been arrested and 231 incidents suspected of breaching the law had been reported.

Security check in schools
According to pl.euronews.com, Polish police conducted coordinated operations on Saturday, 10 October, aimed at enhancing safety in educational facilities across the country. By 6 a.m., officers had inspected nearly 50,000 schools and nurseries, arresting 76 people in connection with 231 incidents suspected of criminal offences.
Police operations were intensified in response to two serious incidents that occurred in the Mazovia region in the days preceding the resumption of inspections. On Thursday, a 15-year-old attacked three people at a primary school in Leszczydole-Nowiny, resulting in the death of a 37-year-old facility worker. A day earlier, a 19-year-old attacked nine people — five pupils and two teachers — at Vocational School Complex No. 4 in Ostrołęka using a knife; the man also possessed homemade explosive material.
Internet monitoring and threat response
Police emphasise that operations include not only inspections at schools, but also continuous internet monitoring and verification of reports about potential threats. Officers work around the clock to identify signals that may indicate risk of an attack before it occurs.
An example of such action is the arrest of a 17-year-old in Sierpc, suspected of announcing dangerous activities at a school. The teenager allegedly threatened to "do something bad". The court applied temporary detention for two months. Cases of this type demonstrate that the services are paying attention to warnings about potential threats, not only to attacks already committed.
Support from services and further action
On Friday, 10 October, additional oversight was imposed on schools and nurseries in the Mazovia region, supported by the Municipal Guard. Police announced the continuation of operations aimed at clarifying reported incidents and preventing further dangerous situations. The statistics provided on Saturday reflect the status at 6 a.m. and may change as procedures progress.
