Police dismantle organised drug gang in Legnica and Wrocław, seven arrested
A multi-month police operation in Legnica and Wrocław has resulted in the arrest of seven people suspected of drug trafficking, receiving stolen goods and theft of luxury vehicles. Officers seized nearly 5,000 portions of methamphetamine, marijuana and 180,000 złoty.
Police dismantle criminal group engaged in drug trafficking
Police officers from Wrocław and Legnica arrested seven people suspected of operating within an organised criminal group. According to dolnoslaska.policja.gov.pl, the operation, conducted on 14 October 2026, was the culmination of several months of investigation aimed at dismantling a hermetic criminal environment engaged in drug trafficking, receiving stolen goods and vehicle theft.
The arrested individuals — six people directly involved in the group's activities and one other person — included two women aged 55 and 29, and four men aged 58, 36, 30 and 20. The operation was carried out simultaneously in the Legnica area and at Wrocław airport, with counter-terrorism officers from Wrocław and Opole playing a special role, conducting dynamic raids on the targeted addresses.
Seized evidence and losses exceeding 300,000 złoty
During searches, officers seized nearly 5,000 portions of methamphetamine and over 1,500 portions of marijuana with a black-market value of 140,000 złoty. Also found were 180,000 złoty in cash, gold, a vehicle and documentation relating to property valued at over 2 million złoty. Police also uncovered numerous car components and equipment for bypassing security systems.
One of the arrested men is linked to the theft of two luxury vehicles — a Mercedes and an Audi Q5 — in the Legnica and Lubin districts. Losses from these thefts totalled over 300,000 złoty.
Prosecutor and court impose remand
The arrested individuals were brought before the prosecutor, where they were informed of charges related to the criminal activity conducted. At the request of the District Prosecutor in Lubin, the court imposed a preventive measure of pre-trial detention on all seven individuals. Participation in a criminal group carries a sentence of up to 8 years imprisonment.
The investigation is ongoing in nature. Officers continue activities aimed at determining the full scale of the criminal activities and any possible further links between the suspects.
