In Poznań, a group of people claiming to be "citizens of the Republic of Poland" attempted to enter and "inspect" an office providing legal assistance to Ukrainian citizens. Police have arrested two people in connection with the incident.
The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński, was asked about the incident. He declared that police would respond firmly and decisively to this type of event. "I speak with full responsibility. Every attempt of this kind should be reported, and police will respond firmly and decisively," the minister stressed.
Kierwiński appealed to people experiencing similar "inspections" to report them immediately. He emphasised that in such cases, the paramount issue is that reports are made. "If there is no such formal report, it is significantly more difficult for the services to work," he explained.
The minister also informed that those arrested will probably be charged. "I don't want to speak on behalf of the prosecution, but my view is that there will be charges in this matter," he stated.
Kierwiński further assured that any attempts to spread hatred by third parties, impersonating state officials, or spreading hatred on the grounds of origin and race should be reported to police, which will respond.
