On Tuesday before 10 p.m., officers from the criminal investigation division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Rybnik and from the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police in Opole conducted a joint operation in the Pawlikowskiego housing estate in Żory (Silesian Voivodeship). As reported by Google News PL, the pursued woman and man had no intention of surrendering.

During an attempt to apprehend them, the Citroën driver suddenly accelerated the vehicle and struck one of the intervening criminal investigators. "During further proceedings, a firearm was used to immobilise the vehicle," said Superintendent Bogusława Kobeszko in a conversation with Gazeta.pl.

The press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Żory, Senior Sergeant Marcin Leśniak, clarified the sequence of events. "One of the police officers was struck by the car, and then another officer fired shots to immobilise the vehicle," said Leśniak in a conversation with Gazeta.pl. The struck officer did not require hospitalisation.

As a result of the operation, two people – a woman and a man – were detained and drugs were seized. Proceedings in the matter are being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Rybnik.
