An officer from the Strzelno police station faced four charges of disclosing classified information. He has been suspended, and his firearm and badge have been confiscated.

According to palukimogilno.pl, on Wednesday 14 January, shortly after 6.00 a.m., officials from the Internal Affairs Bureau in Bydgoszcz entered Strzelno Police Station and detained one of the local officers at the moment he was beginning his morning shift.
The detention resulted from months-long investigation activities and concerns matters from the period 2024–2025. That same day, the police officer was taken to the seat of the District Prosecutor's Office in Bydgoszcz, where charges were presented to him.
Agnieszka Adamska-Okońska, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office, informed that the suspect faced four charges under Article 266 § 2 of the Penal Code. This provision concerns a public official who discloses classified information or information obtained in connection with the performance of official duties to an unauthorised person, if such disclosure may cause damage to a legally protected interest. The penalty is imprisonment of up to three years.
According to information from palukimogilno.pl, the case may be connected with disclosing to unauthorised persons data concerning proceedings, operations and drug investigations conducted by the police.
The County Police Commander in Mogilno, Commissioner Paweł Kazubowski, made an immediate decision to suspend the officer and initiate disciplinary proceedings after receiving information from the District Prosecutor's Office in Bydgoszcz. The spokesperson for Mogilno Police District, Senior Constable Tomasz Bartecki, confirmed that the officer had his firearm, badge and service identification confiscated. "At this time, he is not performing any official duties," Bartecki said.
