According to malopolska.policja.gov.pl, the incident occurred on 27 May at around 10 p.m. in the village of Lubień. Constable Dominika Łukasik from the Police Station in Świątniki Górne was returning home from the gym when she noticed an Opel being driven in a characteristic weaving pattern — the vehicle was crossing the road's centre line and moving into the opposite lane.
The police officer immediately notified the duty officer at the County Police Headquarters in Myślenice, and then personally brought the vehicle to a stop on the roadside. Upon opening the driver's door, she detected a distinct smell of alcohol. The woman was holding a cigarette in one hand and a mobile phone in the other, and there were about a dozen beer cartons in the car. Łukasik removed the keys from the ignition and detained the driver until the patrol arrived.
Officers from the County Police Headquarters in Myślenice identified the person detained. She was a 49-year-old resident of Myślenice County. An alcoholmetre test showed almost 3 per mille of alcohol in her system. The woman's driving licence was suspended.
She faces a penalty of up to 3 years imprisonment for driving under the influence.
