Kielce anti-narcotics officers seized nearly 130 grammes of dried plant material. It was found during a search of a premises in the city. As a result of the entire operation, a twenty-year-old resident was arrested, who could face imprisonment for up to a decade. Details have been provided by Świętokrzyska Police.
Officers were conducting a separate investigation when they came across information suggesting that prohibited substances might be stored in a specific flat. Data gathered earlier enabled them to prepare for the search.
On Thursday morning, police officers entered the suspected premises. Their suspicions proved correct – 126 grammes of green dried plant material was discovered in the rooms used by the young man. Quick tests showed it to be cannabis.
The suspect was detained during the operation. The seized material was sent for laboratory testing for detailed analysis.
The twenty-year-old was charged with illegal possession of a substantial amount of an intoxicating substance. The criminal code provides for imprisonment of up to ten years for this type of offence.
