Nearly 3 kg of drugs found in 23-year-old's Łódź flat – remand custody ordered
Police in Łódź have detained a 23-year-old man after discovering nearly 3 kg of hashish, marijuana and 3-CMC in his flat. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

Police.pl reports that officers from the Narcotics Crime Prevention Department of the Łódź Municipal Police Headquarters have detained a 23-year-old man, in whose flat they secured nearly 3 kilograms of illegal substances in total. The man faces a sentence of up to 10 years imprisonment.
The detention took place on 28 May 2026 on the Teofilów housing estate. During observation, officers noticed a man behaving nervously, whose appearance matched a previously established description. The officers already knew that this person was in the vicinity of Aleksandrowska Street and might be carrying drugs on him.
After the man's identity was checked, the 23-year-old was unable to logically explain his behaviour. In the bag he was carrying, police found a package containing dried plant material. A search of police databases additionally revealed that the man was wanted for serving a sentence for an earlier drug offence.
The detainee initially refused to provide his current address and indicated several different addresses on several occasions – both in Łódź and outside the city. Nevertheless, investigators established the premises where he was actually staying. The search yielded compressed plastic mass, packages of dried plant material and bags containing white crystals. Laboratory tests confirmed that these were hashish, marijuana and 3-CMC.
The 23-year-old was charged with possession of significant quantities of narcotic substances. The District Court for Łódź-Śródmieście, at the prosecutor's request, decided to remand the man in custody.
The case is being handled by detectives from the Second Police Station of the Łódź Municipal Police Headquarters under the supervision of the Łódź-Bałuty District Prosecutor's Office.
