Prosecutor's Office Terminates Investigation into Rape Allegation. Firefighters to Avoid Prosecution

The District Prosecutor's Office in Białystok-North has decided to terminate the investigation against two firefighters who were charged with rape. According to the investigators' findings, the collected evidence does not provide grounds for filing an indictment with the court.

The incident occurred during the Polish Firefighters' Championships in Białystok, where officers from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship were staying as part of the competition. The investigation was initiated on the basis of testimony provided by the victim.

Investigators from Białystok carefully analysed the collected evidence. Following its assessment, they determined that the evidence was insufficient to proceed with the case through the courts. Consequently, they decided to terminate the proceedings.

The prosecutor's decision means that the charged firefighters will not stand trial in this matter. The charges previously brought against them will not be subject to judicial review.
