Two men aged 46 and 48 have been detained in the capital whilst transporting 10 kg of cocaine. The substances were concealed in specially prepared compartments in the body of a Renault vehicle.

Officers from a Warsaw unit IV have concluded a lengthy investigation into the illegal transport of narcotics. They established that the substances had been entering the country from the western part of the continent, specifically from Spain.
The detention operation was carried out in the capital. Police stopped two men – a 46-year-old and a 48-year-old – who were travelling in a French-brand vehicle. During the inspection, it emerged that the car had double walls, and in the space between them were placed ten sealed packages containing white powder. A total of ten kilograms of cocaine with a market value estimated at three million złoty was secured.
Investigators continued operations at the flat inhabited by one of the suspects. There they found an additional quantity – fifty grammes of the same substance – as well as mobile telephones used to organise the transfer.
As it turned out, both detained men had previous convictions on their records for other offences and crimes. They have now been charged with obtaining a significant quantity of narcotics. In accordance with criminal law, such an act carries a sentence of between three and twenty years imprisonment. In the case of the flat owner where the additional batch of drugs was found, an additional three years imprisonment is possible.
Proceedings are being conducted under the supervision of the prosecution.
