An operator of the municipal monitoring system in Poznań spotted a small girl sitting alone in a vehicle. After a report was made, a police patrol was dispatched to the scene.
According to officers' findings, the child's parents left her in the car and went to the riverbank, where they consumed alcohol. During the operation, an intoxicated guardian of the young child attempted to flee from police officers, using the car to do so.
The case has been passed to the prosecution authorities. The parents may face criminal liability for endangering the child's life or health, as well as for driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
