Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek has reported that MP Marcin Romanowski, who is the subject of a red notice, is not in Croatia or Serbia.

According to fakt.pl, Justice Minister and Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek provided a brief statement to the editorial team following a conversation with Croatia's Prosecutor General: Marcin Romanowski is not on the territory of that country. Earlier, Serbia's prosecutor's office informed Żurek that the wanted politician is not in Serbia either.
Romanowski is the subject of a red notice and a European arrest warrant in connection with an investigation concerning irregularities in the Justice Fund. Police "shadow hunters" are conducting the search, but so far no breakthrough has been reported in determining his whereabouts.
In December 2024, it was announced that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's government had granted the MP protection. In early July, this protection was withdrawn, clearing the way for measures aimed at his arrest. At the end of May, Romanowski left his apartment in Budapest. Polish media subsequently reported that he had been seen in Serbia and Croatia.
On 7 July, Żurek was asked on TVN24 about progress in determining the politician's whereabouts. The minister reported at that time that he had already held meetings with his counterparts from Hungary and Serbia. He also announced a conversation with Croatia's Prosecutor General the following day.
Following that conversation, the minister reported the findings to fakt.pl.
"I have just finished the conversation. Marcin Romanowski is not in Croatia," Żurek said briefly.
The search for the PiS politician is therefore continuing, and his current whereabouts remain undetermined.
