Crashed Audi in Tylmanowa – police found weapons, drugs and explosive devices
A drunk 21-year-old without a driving licence crashed an Audi in Tylmanowa. Police discovered weapons, marijuana and three improvised explosive devices.
Accident in Tylmanowa revealed arsenal – two men detained
According to Google News PL – Crime, in the night of 23 to 24 August, police officers from the Police Station in Krościenko nad Dunajcem responded to an incident in Tylmanowa following a road collision involving an Audi. The driver lost control of the vehicle, struck a roadside wall and street lamp, and then fell into a ditch.
Behind the wheel sat a 21-year-old man without permission to drive vehicles. Testing revealed over 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his blood. He was taken to hospital with a head injury, where during medical procedures he behaved aggressively towards officers and insulted them with words widely considered offensive.
Gas pistol and flare in the crashed vehicle
During inspection of the crashed Audi, it concealed more than could have been suspected. Police officers found inside a gas pistol, a revolver and a signal flare. However, this was not the end of the findings in this case.
Marijuana and illegal ammunition with the driver's acquaintance
The driver's 23-year-old acquaintance arrived at the accident scene. His nervous behaviour aroused the suspicions of police officers, who proceeded with a check. The man was found to be carrying a bag of plant material, preliminarily identified as marijuana, as well as ammunition for which the 23-year-old did not have the required permission. Blood was also taken from him for laboratory testing in connection with suspicion of driving a vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substances.
Three improvised explosive devices at home
Further investigative actions led officers to the 23-year-old's place of residence in Tylmanowa. The search revealed three improvised explosive devices in the form of cardboard tubes equipped with detonating fuses.
Pyrotechnicians from the Independent Counter-Terrorist Police Unit in Kraków and an expert from the Forensic Laboratory of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Kraków were dispatched to the scene. With their participation, the devices were secured and subjected to controlled detonation.
Both men detained
The 21-year-old driver and the 23-year-old resident of Tylmanowa were detained. The secured items, substances and ammunition will be subject to further examination and investigative actions conducted by police and the prosecutor's office.
