Premeditated murder: Court of Appeal increases sentence for 21-year-old from Opole

The Court of Appeal in Wrocław has increased the sentence for 21-year-old Hubert Ś. to 25 years imprisonment for the murder of a prostitute in Opole – according to doxa.fm. The verdict is final.

The crime occurred in summer 2024. The district court imposed a sentence of 20 years imprisonment on the defendant, but the district prosecutor in Opole considered it too lenient and filed an appeal.

"The murder was planned, since the defendant brought the weapon used in the crime with him to the meeting with Agata H. The content the defendant searched for on the internet also pointed to such a modus operandi. In the opinion of the public prosecutor, murder committed with premeditation required a harsher assessment," said Stanisław Bar, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Opole.

The Court of Appeal in Wrocław in May this year fully supported the prosecution's arguments and changed the appealed verdict. Hubert Ś. was found to be particularly dangerous and requiring prolonged isolation from society.
