An 80-year-old resident of Niemce commune lost nearly all of her savings as a result of a crime committed over the internet. The victim was contacted online by an unknown person who offered her a favourable purchase of shares in a major oil corporation. The woman, convinced of the offer's legitimacy, transferred the funds she had accumulated over many years to the perpetrator. Only after the money had been transferred did she realise she had been deceived.

The victim's losses amount to nearly 250,000 zlotys. The entire sum of the elderly woman's assets went to the fraudster's account.

The incident occurred in the territory of Niemce commune in the Lublin Voivodeship. The case is being handled by the local police station. Officers are conducting activities aimed at establishing the perpetrator's identity and recovering the losses.

Police appeal for anyone to verify the credibility of entities offering investments online before transferring any financial resources. Fraudsters are increasingly using false offers relating to well-known listed companies to gain the trust of potential victims.
