The facility in Mogilno entered into cooperation with a doctors' company during the tenure of the former management. The entire matter has been placed on the prosecutor's agenda – reports Wirtualna Polska.

Procedures lasted several minutes, but in the records they appeared as significantly more expensive operations. The doctors retained 65 per cent of what the Fund transferred to them. In a single day they performed dozens of such procedures.

National Health Fund inspectors revealed irregularities and imposed a fine on the hospital exceeding two and a half million zloty. The facility now lacks funds for staff salaries.

A similar scheme allegedly operated in Miastko in Pomeranian Voivodeship. There the case is being investigated by prosecutors with support from the Central Bureau of Investigation. According to estimates by the regional health consultant, one of the facilities may be involved in almost thirteen million zloty in unauthorised benefits.
