Ukrainian woman smuggles gold bars across border in Krościenko – value 1.5 million zloty
A 46-year-old Ukrainian citizen was detained at the border crossing in Krościenko with three kilogramme gold bars hidden under her clothing. The total value of the gold is approximately 1.5 million zloty.

According to RMF24, a 46-year-old Ukrainian citizen arrived by car at the border crossing in Krościenko, where she was subjected to a check by officers of the National Tax Administration. A precision scanner revealed hidden goods concealed under her clothing.
In pouches attached to the woman's body, officials found three kilogramme gold bars. Their value was estimated at approximately 1.5 million zloty. The gold was immediately secured, and 23,400 euro was additionally seized as security for the threatened penalty.
Justyna Pasieczyńska, spokesperson for the head of KAS, recalled that persons crossing the European Union border are obliged to declare to customs authorities the transport of funds with a value equal to or exceeding 10,000 euro. This obligation applies not only to cash but also to cheques, bills of exchange, money transfers and gold in the form of bars.
