A Ukrainian influencer drove a car onto the closed trail to Morskie Oko and received only a 100 zloty fine. After the video was published online, police admitted they had been misled.

100 zloty fine after driving onto Morskie Oko trail
At night, the barrier on the road to Morskie Oko remains open, however the ban on vehicle traffic on this trail is in effect around the clock. Despite this, a Ukrainian influencer drove there in his car — according to Onet.
The matter was initially treated as a routine traffic offence. The driver received a fine of just 100 zloty, which did not provoke any major reaction from the authorities at the time.
The situation changed after a video of the incident was published online. The film triggered a wave of outrage across Poland — internet users and commentators publicly criticised the penalty as shockingly low given the nature of the violation.
Under pressure from public opinion, police changed their stance. Officers admitted unofficially that they had been misled during the intervention. According to Onet, in informal conversations police officers spoke plainly about the "stink" that had arisen around the case due to the overly lenient treatment of the driver.
The incident ceased to be merely a local matter — it took on a nationwide dimension, and over time became political as well.
