Verdict in Klaudia's death case

The District Court in Toruń imposed a sentence of 25 years and one month in prison on Yomeykerto S., who was accused of the murder of 24-year-old Klaudia. The verdict, which was confirmed to Polsat News by Jarosław Szymczak, an assistant to the court's press spokesman, is not final.

The tragedy occurred in the night of 11–12 June 2025. The woman was returning from work, where she was employed as a barmaid, and was passing through Toruń's Glazja park at around 1 a.m. There she was attacked by the accused. Klaudia attempted to defend herself and cried for help — her screams were heard by a passer-by, who forced the assailant to flee.

Injuries and circumstances

The severely injured 24-year-old was taken to hospital, where doctors fought for her life for two weeks. She died on 27 June 2025. An autopsy revealed numerous injuries, including around a dozen stab wounds in the areas of the head, neck and chest. Defensive wounds were found on the victim's hands.

The prosecutor charged the Venezuelan with murder with particular cruelty. According to the indictment, he acted with motivation deserving of special condemnation and for the purpose of satisfying a sexual urge. The accused has been held in remand custody since his detention.

A court-ordered psychiatric observation found that the accused had retained the capacity to understand the significance of his actions and to control his conduct at the time of committing the act. The proceedings were closed to the public. The defence does not exclude filing an appeal against the verdict.
