Wakacje.pl data breach – customers' passport details and addresses at risk
The travel portal Wakacje.pl fell victim to a cyberattack on 29 September. Hackers stole customers' personal data, including passport numbers, email addresses and telephone numbers.

According to polsatnews.pl and the Niebezpiecznik website, the travel portal Wakacje.pl fell victim to a cyberattack on 29 September. Hackers gained access to a database containing personal information of the service's customers.
Among the stolen data were telephone numbers, residential addresses, email addresses, names and surnames, and passport details. The number of affected persons has not been disclosed. The attackers also gained access to several email accounts belonging to the portal's staff.
The company is warning users to watch out for fraudulent messages requesting payment and suggests they register their passports with the relevant institutions. Users of the service should also register their PESEL number and pay particular attention to correspondence from hotels and accommodation facilities.
According to Niebezpiecznik, the attack was not carried out by the "Fingerprint" group, which was responsible for previous incidents at MyDr, Enel-Med and Fakturownia.pl. The intruder stated in conversation with the website that they do not plan to attack further Polish firms.
