Police special unit pursues those responsible for fatal beating on Osiedle Willowe

The provincial police commander in Kraków has established a special operational unit involving CBŚP and the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime, tasked with apprehending those responsible for the fatal beating of a 36-year-old man. According to Google News PL, the assault occurred in the night of 20 to 21 August on Osiedle Willowe in Kraków.

"The unit comprises the most experienced police officers from both the provincial command and the city command, as well as from CBŚP and the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime," the Małopolska police stated.

Investigators have already established the identity of all persons directly involved in the beating. Actions are underway to determine their whereabouts.

Three suspects reported to have left Poland

According to Radio Eska's informal sources, the three main suspects have left the country and are currently somewhere in southern Europe. Simultaneously, officers have detained two individuals who, according to investigators, may possess knowledge of the incident or be connected to it. One of them is a minor.

"They are currently awaiting questioning. Actions are still ongoing," Anna Zbroja Zagórska from the Provincial Police Command in Kraków told Radio Eska.

Earlier, police detained nine individuals who, after providing explanations, were released. To date, no one has been charged.

Victim: Hutnik Kraków supporter leader

The beaten man was discovered by a random witness. Despite rescue efforts, the 36-year-old died on the way to hospital. According to investigators, the assault is directly linked to activities of pseudo-supporters.

As WP Wiadomości previously reported, the victim is Jakub C., alias "Yankes" – a leader of Hutnik Kraków supporters. On social media, his acquaintances announced a collection for a farewell to the man.

Police point to supporter-related settling of scores as the background to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
