A teenager has been detained in Jędrzejów in the Holy Cross Voivodeship in connection with the death of a young woman. The man has been charged with murder and attempted rape. He has denied guilt.

A tragic incident has occurred in Jędrzejów in the Holy Cross Voivodeship. In the night from Thursday to Friday, the body of a 29-year-old woman was found lying in bushes on wasteland in the area. Emergency responders who attended the scene attempted resuscitation, but were unable to restore her to life.
Investigators quickly concluded that the death may not have been natural. Extensive investigative measures were launched, involving not only police officers from the local police station but also officers from Kielce and riot units.
On Friday at around three o'clock in the morning, a 19-year-old resident of the Jędrzejów area was detained. Forensic technicians worked at the scene securing evidence.
Daniel Prokopowicz, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office in Kielce, reported that the young man has been presented with two charges. The first concerns attempted rape of the victim; the second concerns depriving her of her life.
The accused has denied committing the alleged acts. He has also exercised his right to refuse to provide an explanation. The prosecutor has filed a motion with the court for the remand in custody of the suspect.
The investigation continues. Investigators are seeking to establish all the circumstances that led to the woman's death. If guilt is proven, he faces the maximum penalty – life imprisonment.
