A 17-year-old detained following disturbances at the Gliwice juvenile celebrations has been charged with assaulting a police officer. He faces up to three years' imprisonment.

According to RMF24, a 17-year-old detained during the juvenile celebrations in Gliwice has been charged with assaulting a police officer and causing him injury. The charges carry a penalty of up to three years' imprisonment.
After questioning, the minor was released and placed under police supervision.
The scuffles occurred on Thursday evening. A group of people who had been denied entry to the concert area forced through barriers that had been erected there. Security was unable to control the situation, so the organisers called the police.
Bottles and stones were thrown at the officers. One of those throwing was the detained 17-year-old. During the intervention, two police patrol cars were damaged.
In a Friday statement, the organisers of the celebrations explained the course of events. "Unfortunately, a significantly larger than usual number of people (including those from outside the academic community), after being informed that the gates were closing, did not comply with the event regulations and security instructions. The crowd attempted to force through the barriers, which led to an escalation of aggression, storming the fence and posing a direct threat to the safety of people in Łąka Igrowa. Faced with such behaviour, security and the Police had to intervene, and as a result we were forced to stop yesterday's concert," the organisers wrote. They also reminded attendees that entering the grounds of a mass event after entry has been closed is a criminal offence.
On Friday, a decision was made to continue the celebrations. On Saturday, they concluded.
