Shop theft revealed wanted offender by court

According to podlaska.policja.gov.pl, officers from the Prevention Unit of the Police in Białystok were called to one of the shops in the city in connection with the theft of food items. At the scene, they identified a 44-year-old man suspected of taking goods from shop shelves.

The man stole coffee and beer. Police officers also established that he consumed alcohol on the shop premises – for both offences he received monetary fines.

During verification of the 44-year-old's details in police information systems, it emerged that he was wanted by the District Court in Białystok. The court had imposed a sentence of 4 months imprisonment on him for thefts committed previously.

The man was detained and taken to a remand prison, where he will serve his sentenced term.
