The Superior Baseball League Double A expressed regret this Sunday over the murder of Alexander Bruno Pastrana, a former pitcher and member of the technical staff of the Cariduros de Fajardo, according to reports from metro.pr.
The incident occurred on the night of Saturday, 15 August 2026, in the El Jobo grocery store, located on Avelino López Road, in the Caimito sector of San Juan.
"We regret the death of Alexander Bruno, a member of the technical staff of the Cariduros de Fajardo and a former pitcher of the Superior Baseball League Double A," read the statement published on the league's social media accounts.
During his career, Bruno Pastrana wore the uniforms of the Jueyeros de Maunabo, the Pescadores del Plata of Comerío, the Cariduros de Fajardo, and the Bravos de Cidra.
The league extended its condolences on behalf of the president of the Puerto Rico Baseball Federation, Dr José Daniel Quiles, and the Board of Directors. The message made special mention of the victim's son, Alex Bruno, an active player for the Pescadores del Plata.
Agent Rafael Pérez, of the Criminal Investigation Corps of San Juan, and prosecutor Félix Rivera are in charge of the investigation into this violent death.
