Murder on PR-5 highway in Cataño: Police close section at kilometre 2.5

Police closed a section of the PR-5 highway on Thursday afternoon, at kilometre 2.5 in the Puente Blanco neighbourhood of Cataño, to investigate a murder, according to primerahora.com.
The closure operates in both directions. Officers responded to the location at around 2:40 p.m. following a call to the Emergency System 9-1-1 reporting a traffic accident; upon arrival, they found a man dead at the scene.
"Traffic is closed in both directions whilst the investigation is being carried out," Police indicated.
Concurrently, another man arrived at a hospital in the same municipality with a gunshot wound. "Related to these events, another man arrived at a hospital in the aforementioned municipality with a gunshot wound," the police report states.
The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed, and it has not been confirmed whether the body was found inside a vehicle. Authorities did not specify how long the road would remain closed.
Drivers were advised to use PR-869 and PR-165 highways as alternate routes whilst the investigation continues.
Staff from the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Bayamón and the duty prosecutor are in charge of the case. "The circumstances in which the events occurred remain under investigation," Police stated.
