Content creator arrested in San Juan over AI prank on police, wanted in Florida

Arrest in San Juan following AI prank on municipal agent
A content creator wanted by authorities in Florida was detained Wednesday afternoon in San Juan, Puerto Rico, after using artificial intelligence to deceive a municipal police officer, reported telemundo51.com.
The man, identified as Alexis Jesús Martínez Arizala, used another person's identity and AI tools to fabricate a video in which the theft of a patrol car parked outside a fast-food restaurant was simulated. Martínez showed the video to the agent whilst the officer was inside the establishment, which caused the official to immediately go outside to verify the situation.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the agent confirmed that the patrol car remained in its place and with no one inside. The individual who appeared in the video denied the facts. Following the corresponding investigation, police determined that it was a prank orchestrated by Martínez and proceeded with his detention.
Authorities in Puerto Rico confirmed that Martínez has a valid arrest warrant in Florida and that they expect to initiate an extradition process to that state. The pending charges in Florida include manipulation or fabrication of physical evidence, unlawful use of a communication device, false report to a law enforcement officer and provision of false information about the alleged commission of a crime.
This is not the first incident of this type involving Martínez. In December 2025, Telemundo 51 reported his arrest for refusing to provide his address to an officer investigating complaints related to pranks that included videos altered through AI about infidelity and crime.
