A 51-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds in the yard of a house, while another man aged 32 died in hospital after being shot in the same incident.
Double shooting in Cristina sector of Juana Díaz
A violent incident claimed the lives of two individuals on Saturday afternoon in the Cristina community, within the municipality of Juana Díaz, local authorities reported.
Officers arrived at a residence in the area where they found the body of Basilio Peña Santos, aged 51, in the rear yard. The body bore gunshot wounds from a firearm.
Simultaneously, Reese L. Álvarez Martínez, aged 32, also suffered injuries from gunshots during the same episode. Medical Emergency personnel transported him to a nearby hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life and confirmed his death.
The investigation was placed under the responsibility of officers from the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps based in Ponce, in collaboration with prosecutor Blanca Quetell.
