The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) and the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) completed the extradition of Ramón Arturo Ortega Concepción, known as "El Negro Amante", to Puerto Rico on Thursday, according to elnacional.com.do.
The procedure took place at Las Américas International Airport (AILA-JFPG) in Santo Domingo, where the defendant was transferred into the custody of United States agents. The agents boarded a commercial flight bound for Puerto Rico to place him at the disposal of the judicial authorities of that jurisdiction.
Puerto Rican justice accuses the 44-year-old Dominican of first-degree murder, attempted homicide, carrying and illegal possession of firearms, as well as firing and pointing a weapon.
Ortega Concepción had been captured in August during a coordinated operation in the Villa del Café Segunda sector, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste. At that time, authorities seized a vehicle, an HS-2000 brand pistol with its magazine and several rounds of ammunition, as well as documentary evidence from him.
