Tyre shop employee shot dead in Trujillo Alto; customer injured
A 41-year-old man who worked at a tyre business in the Dos Bocas neighbourhood was shot dead on Friday evening. A woman waiting to be served was also shot and is in stable condition.

On the evening of Friday, a man who worked at an establishment dedicated to the sale and repair of tyres lost his life after receiving several gunshot wounds in the Dos Bocas neighbourhood, in the municipality of Trujillo Alto.
The victim was identified as Alexis Polanco Amparo, 41 years old, according to a report by Telemundo Puerto Rico.
According to initial investigations, Polanco Amparo was attending the business when armed individuals travelling in a moving vehicle opened fire on the premises. The bullets struck the worker, causing his death.
A woman who was in the shop waiting for service was also injured by the gunfire. The doctors who treated her indicated that her health condition is stable.
The deceased was originally from the Dominican Republic. Police records show that he had criminal convictions for forging driver's licences, certificates and other official documents.
During a search of his residence, agents found a pistol without the corresponding permits, as well as a considerable sum of cash. Based on these findings, investigators are not ruling out that the homicide may be related to the sale and distribution of controlled substances.
The Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Carolina is in charge of investigating the case. So far, no arrests related to the incident have been reported.
