Femicide-suicide in Patillas: 64-year-old woman found dead in her home

Couple found dead in Patillas residence; police investigate femicide-suicide
According to telemundopr.com, a 64-year-old woman and her 60-year-old husband were found dead on Monday night in their residence in Urbanización San Martín, in the municipality of Patillas.
The victim was identified as Hilda Milagros Meléndez Morales; the man as Raúl Gely Rodríguez. Police preliminarily classified the case as femicide-suicide.
The daughters of Meléndez Morales went to the residence after failing to receive responses to their telephone calls. Upon arrival, they discovered the scene and notified authorities. Officers found the woman's body in a room of the house, whilst Rodríguez was found in the bathroom, where he apparently took his own life.
A bladed weapon was found on the grounds of the residence, and its connection to the events is being investigated.
The couple had been together for 20 years and had been legally married for 12.
