Man shot dead in pickup truck in Bayamón; victim identified as Jonathan Aponte Figueroa
A 34-year-old man was shot dead inside a Ford F-150 pickup truck on PR-872 in Bayamón in the early hours of Thursday. Police are investigating the case as a homicide.
Victim of fatal shooting in Bayamón identified
Jonathan Kevin Aponte Figueroa, 34 years old, was shot dead inside a black 2024 Ford F-150 pickup truck on PR-872 in the Río Plantation area of Bayamón, according to elnuevodia.com.
The incident was reported at 2:16 a.m. on Thursday through the 9-1-1 Emergency System, following calls alerting authorities to shots fired in the area.
"Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a man inside a pickup-type vehicle, Ford F-150, black, year 2024, who presented multiple gunshot wounds that caused his death on the spot," the police report states.
Agents from the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Bayamón, in coordination with the duty prosecutor, took over the investigation.
The circumstances of the crime remain under police investigation.
As of this Wednesday, Police had counted 324 murders so far this year, four fewer than the 328 recorded on the same date in 2025.
