A 30-year-old man was killed in the early hours of the morning in the car park of a business located on the PR-156 highway in Barranquitas, according to elnuevodia.com. The call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System was received at 1:37 a.m. on Monday.
When police units arrived at the scene, they found the victim's lifeless body with a gunshot wound. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
The Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps of the Aibonito police region assumed the case.
Until the Sunday prior to the incident, Puerto Rico Police had tallied 347 murders so far this year, nine fewer than the 356 recorded on the same date in 2025.
