According to telemundopr.com, Hiram Ramos Pérez, 31, was killed at approximately 5:40 a.m. on Saturday in a residence located on Parque Las Palomas street in the Villa Fontana neighbourhood in Carolina.
A woman was also shot and injured in the same incident. She was later admitted to a hospital in the area, where she received medical care; her condition was described as stable.
Authorities have a man in custody in connection with the case and do not rule out a romantic connection as a trigger for the incident.
In the context of a violent day on the island, authorities are also investigating a murder that occurred Friday night in Aibonito, where a man allegedly shot a coworker. Simultaneously, another homicide was reported in Guaynabo, and in Canovanas a man was killed during Saturday morning at a Mobil petrol station.
