Crane operator shot in Salinas dies hidden after calling police station
A crane operator was shot dead this morning at the entrance to the Las Mareas neighbourhood in Salinas, according to the Police Press Office, as reported by primerahora.com.
According to preliminary reports, at around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday the victim called the district police station to report that he had been shot by unknown individuals while getting out of his vehicle at kilometre 156 of the PR-3 motorway.
When patrol officers arrived at the scene, they immediately found a crane with bullet impacts. It was not until approximately 11:30 a.m. that they found the man's body in the place where he had hidden, in an area known as Curva del Conejo.
The Homicide Division of Guayama and the duty prosecutor went to the scene to begin the corresponding investigation.
The case becomes the fourth murder reported in Puerto Rico in less than 24 hours.
