Operation in Monte Hatillo: AK-47, marijuana and crack seized with no arrests

FURA intervenes in apartments occupied by criminals in Monte Hatillo
The Intelligence Division of the United Forces for Rapid Action (FURA) of the Puerto Rico Police carried out an operation on Thursday afternoon in the Monte Hatillo residential area in San Juan, according to primerahora.com.
Lieutenant David Díaz, director of the division, confirmed that the operation was conducted in coordination with the Department of Housing. During the searches, vacant apartments were inspected that, according to Díaz, were supposed to be occupied by elderly adults.
"Those criminals took possession," the lieutenant declared. The official could not immediately clarify what happened to the displaced residents.
In the apartments intervened, significant quantities of marijuana, crack capsules and firearms were seized. Among the material confiscated was an AK-47 rifle. No arrests were recorded during the operation.
Several police units participated in the deployment, including SWAT units, the Aerial unit, the Canine unit and the Intelligence Division of Arrests of San Juan.
This is the third operation conducted in recent days to intervene in apartments in public residential areas occupied by criminals, although it is the first in which FURA participated.
