Dominican Republic extradites "El Jamaquen" to Puerto Rico federal courts

Dominican accused of drug trafficking extradited to Puerto Rico
The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic and the National Drug Control Directorate handed over David Armando Brito Brito, alias "El Jamaquen", to United States authorities on Thursday, according to elnacional.com.do. The operation was supported by United States federal agencies.
The handover took place at Las Américas International Airport, from where Brito Brito was transferred into custody directly to Puerto Rico to appear before a federal court.
The defendant faces charges of conspiracy to import five kilogrammes or more of cocaine into the United States, possession of firearms, and conspiracy to commit money laundering, according to court records.
The extradition was carried out in compliance with decree 346-26. Brito Brito had been arrested in May of this year during an operation that included more than 30 simultaneous raids in the National District, Santo Domingo Este, and La Altagracia province.
