Dominican Republic extradites "El Negro Amante" to Puerto Rico for murder

Dominican accused of murder handed over to Puerto Rico authorities
The Attorney General's Office (PGR) and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), with the support of the U.S. Marshals Service, have completed the extradition of Dominican citizen Ramón Martínez, known as "El Negro Amante" or "Ramón Arturo Ortega Concepción", according to listindiario.com.
The transfer was executed at José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport of the Americas, where the accused was handed over to American agents who transported him on a commercial flight to Puerto Rico to place him at the disposal of that jurisdiction's judicial authorities.
Martínez, 44 years old, faces charges in Puerto Rico of first-degree murder, attempted homicide, carrying and illegal possession of weapons, as well as firing and pointing a firearm.
His arrest took place last August during an operation in the Villa del Café Segunda sector, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste. At that time, authorities seized a vehicle, an HS-2000 brand pistol with magazine and several rounds of ammunition, as well as documentary evidence.
A press statement from Dominican authorities indicates that this extradition reaffirms the country's commitment to international cooperation against transnational organised crime.
