580 kg of drugs seized on Carvalhal beach, Grândola
The Maritime Police found 12 packages containing approximately 580 kg of suspected narcotic substance on the Carvalhal coast. Searches continue along the coastline.

Drug packages washed ashore at Carvalhal
The Maritime Police seized approximately 580 kilograms of product suspected to be a narcotic substance in the Carvalhal area, in the municipality of Grândola, according to CNN Portugal.
The discovery was made during coastal patrol and surveillance operations, following the detection of several packages in a beach area. The search was subsequently expanded along the coastal strip, making it possible to locate a total of 12 packages.
The operation had the support of the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Sines.
The authorities are maintaining active searches along the coastline to locate other volumes that may have reached the shore or be dispersed in the area. The case has been reported to the judicial authority, which is directing the investigation.
The origin of the product and the identity of any responsible parties are still to be determined.
