According to rtp.pt, André Ventura granted an interview to RTP Notícias precisely on the day the Public Prosecutor made public the accusation in the so-called "Twins case".
The president of Chega emphasised the party's decisive role in bringing the matter to Parliament, arguing that Chega's actions were essential for the case to reach justice.
Ventura also denounced the existence of a "web of interests, favouritism and abuse" that allegedly permitted "preferential treatment" for the two Portuguese-Brazilian girls, pointing to what he classified as serious failings in the system.
The case involves the children's access to a medication considered one of the most expensive in the world. The Public Prosecutor accused the former Secretary of State, the son of the President of the Republic and the former director of Santa Maria Hospital in the scope of the same proceedings.
