Two arrested for synthetic drug trafficking in Machico; 11 vehicles and 68,000 euros seized
The PSP arrested two men aged between 35 and 38 years on suspicion of trafficking in "Bloom" and "Gorby" in the municipality of Machico. Eleven vehicles and more than 68,000 euros in cash were also seized.

PSP in Madeira arrests two suspects for synthetic drug trafficking in Machico
The Criminal Investigation Squad of the Machico Police Division arrested in flagrante delicto two men, both born and resident in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, aged between 35 and 38 years, suspected of drug trafficking. The operation was confirmed by the Regional Command of Madeira of the Public Security Police, as reported by funchalnoticias.net.
The investigation that led to the arrests lasted approximately one year and nine months and focused on the sale of synthetic drugs in the municipality of Machico. According to the PSP, the criminal activity had been causing considerable public alarm among the local population, with growing concern regarding this phenomenon in that area.
In carrying out several residential and non-residential search warrants, the authorities seized:
- More than 52 grammes of synthetic drug known as "Bloom";
- More than 12 grammes of synthetic drug designated as "Gorby";
- More than 68,000 euros in cash;
- 11 motor vehicles, including one high-end vehicle.
The two detainees were brought before a non-judicial hearing. Following the hearing, they were subject to the precautionary measure of a pledge of identity and residence.
The Regional Command of the PSP in Madeira stated that it maintains permanent vigilance over phenomena related to drug trafficking, in particular with regard to the sale and consumption of synthetic drugs, continuing an investigation and intervention strategy aimed at combating this type of crime.
