Two Lisbon Airport Employees Detained on Cocaine Trafficking Charges
The Judicial Police detained two airport workers suspected of being part of a cocaine trafficking network originating from Latin America. Around 110 kg of drugs and 200,000 euros in cash were seized.

The Judicial Police (PJ) detained two airport workers in Lisbon on Friday on suspicion of illicit drug trafficking, according to jm-madeira.pt, which cites an official statement.
The two detainees, aged 48 and 46, worked at Lisbon Airport and are identified as members of a criminal network dedicated to introducing cocaine into the European continent by air, through commercial flights from Latin America.
The operation, named "Falcon" and conducted by the National Unit for Combating Drug Trafficking (UNCTE) of the PJ, resulted in the seizure of approximately 110 kilogrammes of cocaine, approximately 200,000 euros in cash, several vehicles and other objects and documents related to the crime.
The suspects underwent their first judicial hearing for the application of appropriate bail measures. The investigation is being conducted by the Lisbon Public Prosecution Office.
