Two men arrested for robbery with coercion at Cascais events
The PSP arrested two young men, aged 23 and 24, in connection with an assault on several victims at an events venue in the Cascais municipality. The crimes occurred in early June and caused total losses of approximately 8,900 euros.
According to the police, the group — composed of four individuals, two of whom are still at large — approached the victims with physical violence. In addition to taking their mobile phones and wallets containing debit cards, the robbers forced them to reveal the unlock codes for the devices, the personal identification numbers for their bank cards and the credentials for banking applications installed on the mobile phones.
Using the stolen items, the criminals carried out bank transactions worth 5,500 euros and withdrew 400 euros. The two mobile phones taken were valued at 3,000 euros.
The report was made quickly and PSP investigators were able to identify and arrest two of the four suspects. During a search of their home, they recovered one of the devices, valued at 1,500 euros.
The two arrested individuals were remanded in custody.
