The Regional Command of the PSP arrested in flagrante delicto two men, native to and residing in Madeira, aged between 35 and 38 years, suspected of drug trafficking in the municipality of Machico, according to madeira.rtp.pt.
The operation was launched following an investigation lasting approximately one year and nine months, focused on the distribution of synthetic drugs in an area where the phenomenon was causing increasing public alarm among the local population.
As part of the investigation, several search warrants were executed at residential and non-residential premises, which resulted in the following seizures:
- More than 52 grams of the synthetic substance commonly known as "Bloom";
- More than 12 grams of the synthetic substance known as "Gorby";
- More than €68,000 in cash;
- 11 motor vehicles, including one high-end vehicle.
The two arrested men were brought for a non-judicial hearing. The court applied the measure of identity and residence reporting conditions, leaving them free but under obligation to remain identifiable and at their respective addresses.
