A 48-year-old man was arrested by officers from Pinhal Novo when he was stealing diesel from a train.
GNR catches fuel thief on train in Palmela area
Officers from the National Republican Guard in Pinhal Novo, municipality of Palmela, arrested a 48-year-old man caught in the act of stealing diesel from a train.
The incident began when several people contacted the authorities, reporting that a group was extracting fuel near the railway line. A GNR vehicle was immediately dispatched to the scene and managed to detain one of the individuals.
During the search, agents found a container with a capacity of 30 litres and a flexible tube, objects that presumably were used for the theft.
The detainee was constituted as a defendant, released and notified to present himself before the judicial authority.
