The Criminal Investigation Unit of Felgueiras conducted 13 searches and arrested ten suspects on Tuesday night, seizing more than three kilograms of hashish and cocaine.
GNR arrests ten people in drugs trafficking operation in Paços de Ferreira
The Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of Felgueiras, from the GNR, conducted an operation on Tuesday night that resulted in the arrest of ten individuals suspected of drug trafficking. The police operation took place in the municipality of Paços de Ferreira and concluded an investigation that had been ongoing for a year and a half.
In total, 13 residential and commercial premises searches were carried out. Among the inspected locations were two pet shops located in Seroa and an amusement arcade in Freamunde. The arrested individuals consist of seven men and three women, aged between 25 and 55 years old.
During the operation, the authorities seized more than three kilograms of hashish, approximately one kilogram of cocaine, cash, vehicles and mobile phones. The investigation is continuing under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The operation aimed to dismantle a drug distribution network operating in the region. The arrest warrants were executed as part of an investigation that began approximately eighteen months ago, with investigators gathering sufficient evidence to justify the searches and arrests.
