GNR detains two men for drug trafficking in Santo Tirso with 10 gold bars seized
The GNR in Santo Tirso detained two men between 27 and 29 May for drug trafficking. Eleven searches were carried out and 10 gold bars and forged documents were seized.
Two detained and 11 searches in GNR operation against drug trafficking
The Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of the Republican National Guard in Santo Tirso detained two men, aged 29 and 40, on suspicion of drug trafficking between 27 and 29 May, according to information released by diariodesantotirso.pt.
The detentions occurred following an investigation that made it possible to locate and identify the suspects. In total, the officers carried out 11 searches — four at residences and seven in vehicles — in the municipalities of Esposende, Guimarães and Vila Nova de Famalicão.
During the searches, the following materials were seized: 10 gold bars, two bladed weapons, a forged Italian citizen card and a forged Italian driving licence.
The two detained individuals were constituted as defendants and the case was referred to the Judicial Court of Santo Tirso.
